One of the most dynamic small guards of the modern era, this two time All-American could drive full-tilt, put on the brakes, and fire up a jump shot, hitting nothing-but-net. Murphy averaged 33.1 points per game for New York's Niagara University and once lit up Syracuse University for 68 points. An excellent foul shooter and great in-your-face defender, despite his 5'9" frame, he became an NBA All-Star. Murphy played a total of 13 seasons with San Diego and Houston, scoring over 1,000 points in 11 straight seasons.
