Biography

"Easy Ed" Macauley is known for powerful, gliding drives, easy lay-ups, and dead-on hook shots. The 6-foot-8 center for St. Louis University was the national collegiate leader with a .524 shooting percentage in 1946-47 and was named All-American at SLU in 1948 and 1949. He helped lead Hall of Fame coach Ed Hickey's Billikens to the NIT title in 1949 and was named the AP College Player of the Year that same year. Macauley was a NBA All-Star with the St. Louis Bombers, Boston Celtics, and St. Louis Hawks. He won the NBA Championship with Hawks in 1958.
