Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee 1982
After leaving the Navy in 1946, Case began coaching the North Carolina State Wolfpack where he stayed on for 18 years, earning the best record in the school's history. Case persuaded the administration to build a 12,400 seat arena. Reynold's Coliseum hosted the first 13 Atlantic Coast Conference tournaments, also largely Case's idea. Case's up-tempo coaching style won over fans, increasing the popularity of college basketball in the South.
