Harry A. Fisher was named All-American at Columbia University where he captained the Lions to the 1904 and 1905 Helms Foundation National Championships. One year after graduation, he became Columbia's first, full-time paid coach. Fisher led the Lions to three Eastern Intercollegiate League (now Ivy League) titles in 1911, 1912, and 1914. Fisher coached Army from 1921 to 1925. His Cadets, led by Hall of Famer Johnny Roosma, had a 46-5 record, including an undefeated 1922-23 season. Fisher's contributions to the sport included editing the Collegiate Guide from 1906 until 1915.
