Biography

Gallatin played basketball for Northeast Missouri State (now Truman University) as a junior and senior, averaging 13.2 points a game. Though he was nicknamed "Horse" because of his strong, durable and intense competitiveness, he was an agile forward who quickly grabbed rebounds before the bigger men. As an NBA All-Star with the New York Knicks, he played a record 682 straight games.
