Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee 1992

"Mr. Energy", known to adoring fans as "Looie", Carnesecca led his alma mater St. John's University to the 1985 NCAA Final Four. He compiled eighteen 20-win seasons. Looie was voted National Coach of the Year in 1983 and 1985 and coached St. John's to the NIT Championship in 1989. When he retired after the 1991-92 season, he had a record of 526-200 and was ranked 27th all-time in victories.
