Biography

Robert "Hooks" Wanzer, the six foot Brooklyn New York native played for Seton Hall University. In the first round of the 1948 BAA draft, Wanzer was the tenth pick by the Rochester Royals. He was named MVP of the NBA in 1951, the year the Royals won the Championship. A five time NBA All-Star, Wanzer was the first player in basketball history to shoot over 90% from the free throw line in a single season.
