As a guard and foward at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Sihugo "Si" Green was known for his versatile scoring and playmaking. During his college career he average 18.2 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. As a senior he averaged 24.5 points and 13.2 rebounds per game. In 1955 the Dukes won the NIT Championship where Si scored 33 points.
Green was the first over pick in the 1956 NBA Draft by the Rochester Royals. He continued to play guard and forward in the NBA with teams like the Royals, Hawks, Packers/Zephyrs, Bullets, and Celtics.
Green's number 11 jersey was retired by the Duquesne University Department of Athletics on January 27, 2001, during the halftime of a game against Xavier University.
Died October 4, 1980 at age 47
