Bill Walton was a dynamic center for the UCLA Bruins in the early 1970s and helped lead them to 88 straight wins and three national championships. Walton was a Consensus All-American and a three time College Player of the Year. Walton entered the NBA in 1974 as the first-round pick of the Portland Trailblazers. Two years later Walton averaged more than twenty points a game and lead the NBA in rebounds with a 15-plus average and blocked shots with a 3-plus average while sparking the Blazers in a nip-and-tuck race with Los Angeles for the front position in the Pacific Division of the NBA's Western Conference. After taking the conference title, Portland defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA championship finals in 1977. He won the championship again in 1986 and has been named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.
