Biography

"The Big Dipper" was a 7-foot-1 tower of strength. Basketball had never seen shear dominance in the low post until Chamberlain led Kansas to two conference titles and the 1957 NCAA Championship game. He lifted the NBA to new heights by setting the all-time scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage marks. Chamberlain might be best known for his 100 point game, but more importantly he was responsible for rule changes that involved inbounding the ball, shooting free-throws, widening the lane, and instituting offensive goal tending.
