They called him "Big Z" for a reason. From 1958-1962 Beaty averaged 25 points and 20 rebounds per game at Prairie View A&M. He led his team to the 1962 NAIA Championship and earned the Chuck Taylor MVP for the tournament. Beaty consistently averaged a double double during his professional career facing opposing centers Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell.
